Last month I had a chance to visit my niece and her hubby, Melissa Hibbard and Hamid Rahmanian (they are independent documentary film makers in Brooklyn, NY – click here to see their latest film The Glass House). Had a blast and got an local view of NYC. They took me to their favorite restaurants, and Melissa and I shopped her favorite stores in SoHo and the lower east side and “alphabet city”. What I love about NYC is that life is happening all around ALL the time! Such diversity. You wouldn’t believe the experience I had at the Whole Foods store at 14th and Union, 100 people lined up in 5 lanes to check out their groceries – I think in Texas we would have had several people going “postal” but there everyone just seemed to know what to do next and didn’t seem to be in any hurry. It was a nice change from my suburban life I live here in Dallas.
I have lots of photos I am processing from the trip, so stay tuned and check back often to see more. I will be publishing them all on my photo site www.LensQueen.com. My first grouping is a small collection of photos I snapped using my “best camera” (Chase Jarvis says the best camera is the one that’s with you!) – my handy Apple iPhone 3GS (haven’t upgraded to the OS4 yet, waiting for my AT&T upgrade coming in February). Here are a few to tease you, be sure to hop over to LensQueen.com to see the entire gallery. Love and Peace!
