lyric marketing oscar movie fun2011 Oscar Nominee List

Ok, it’s Oscar weekend, so let’s have some movie fun!  Here is a list of all the Oscar contenders that will be up for an award on Sunday night on the 83rd Academy Awards!   I borrowed this list from Moves with Mitch (he’s having a Best Buy contest so be sure and check out his site).  Be sure to check out the official Oscar site and see the videos and commentary and their own list as well!  You can keep track of your own picks there.  I’ve tried to get to most of the movies, but have missed a few – I am not sure how many I will get to this weekend but would really like to see Biutiful before Sunday.  Oh don’t cha love it!  All that glamour and sparkle!   See the list here…. The amazing Winspear Opera House in Dallas was the setting for the performance of Pucini’s Madame Butterfly.  I had the good fortune to attend the performance last night and had a blast.  The beauty of the architecture of the new Performing Arts Center in downtown Dallas was breathtaking!  Here are a few photos taken with what Chase Jarvis rates as the BEST CAMERA – the one that’s with you! In my case my trusty iPhone (to see all my photos visit me at my Facebook page):

Sarah has posted a new video in the Nora Jones Karaoke contest – and like the last time, she needs 100 plays to qualify for the contest.  Please help her by clicking on the link below and playing the “Don’t Know Why” video.

Just CLICK HERE and you will go to MySpace.com to hear her sing the song by Nora Jones “Don’t Know Why”.

sm glass house The Glass House finally comes to Dallas. Join me this Sunday at the Angelika Theater in Dallas (Mockingbird Station) at 2:15 for the premier of this moving documentary that breaks cultural and racial barriers.

With a virtually invisible camera, The Glass House takes us on a never-before-seen tour of the underclass of Iran. This groundbreaking documentary reflects a side of Iran few have access to. It introduces us to a group of courageous women working to instill a sense of empowerment and hope into the lives of otherwise discarded teenage girls.

Melissa Hibbard (my niece) and her hubby Hamid Rahmanian, are the film makers of the award winning documentary film The Glass House. Melissa wrote and produced and Hamid directed the movie. For more info and to see a clip of the film, go to http://www.fictionvillestudio.com/. THE GLASS HOUSE recently won the OSCE HUman Right Award at Docufest, 2009.

We had a great time at the Rising Gallery art show, the staff was great, the cupcakes were delicious and the art was truly fabulous.  Joshua’s paintings attracted a lot of attention as did the other works on display.  There are some wonderful new artists in Dallas – rising stars!  Check out the Rising Gallery, a very cool place loaded with a wonderful selection of contemporary art pieces.

Detour Dallas Art Show

It was a fun night and Josh Judkins paintings were a big hit!  Josh will be at the Rising Gallery in Dallas uptown Friday night from 6 to 9.  Stop by if you can and hang out with us!

I had a great time with Josh and Sarah at the Detour Dallas art show at the Cavern in lower Greenville Dallas last night.  The music of the Polycorns was fresh and innovative and the ambiance of the room gave just enough light to cast the perfect mood onto the paintings of Josh Judkins.  Dark and dreamy, it was a very worthwhile venture into the late night on a Wednesday.

I loved this painting “Chica”, in fact, this one hangs in my living room!  (Thanks Josh!)

This is probably Josh’s signature painting right now, the favorite of all his fans – “Somewhere in my Underworld”, pretty incredible.

It was a great night.  Joshua’s art is unique and in its own style class.  He will be showing 2 works Friday night at the Rising Gallery in Dallas….from 6 – 9 pm.

One of my favorites!
