Maddy Rose and Sarah Sellers take the stage at The Balcony Club in Dallas

Hey everyone! I am excited to tell you about my next gig (remember my stage name is Maddy Rose – click here to hear my music) - I will be playing The Balcony Club at the historic Lakewood Theater in Dallas Tuesday, April 19 for the happiest of hours – 6 to 9. This set will be me and my keyboard player Tom Sullinger, giving you soulful vocals of some of your favorite tunes, bluesy, jazzy and of course my soulful interpretations of love lost, found and conquered! I hope you will come and join me, hang out, share some drinks, sing along, and catch up on life and what’s been going on over this past year.

The Easter Seals Walk With Me event for 2009 was held at the Grapevine Mills Mall in the Dallas/Fort Worth area last week (March 7). Maddy Rose and SoulMix were the featured band and rocked the house with their favorite dance and R&B tunes. The day raised well over $35,000 for the cause! Maddy Rose and SoulMix is playing at our favorite Dallas jazz club this Saturday…the fabulous Balcony Club above the historic Lakewood Theatre. Hello Maddy Rose & SoulMix Friends and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We wanted to touch base to first say we wish you a very happy and healthy 2009! This has been such a great year for the band and we know that 2009 is going to be even better…more songs, more shows and more performances for you!

Just like nature is cyclical in its seasons, the ocean tides, and the stars around us, so is life! Endings bring with them beautiful beginnings. So as we end this year we are starting a new one with a project to help others in need. I became involved with Easter Seals North Texas a couple of years ago and have found it to be a blessing to so many people. Easter Seals helps individuals who struggle with disabilities to live a better life…now that’s a cause! The staff is wonderful, real caring people who give from the heart…and I want to be a part of that.

To start, we will be playing the Easter Seals Walk With Me on March 7, here are the details:

Schedule: 7:30 am check in; 9:00 am start time
Date: March 7, 2009
Location: Grapevine Mills Mall
Course Route: 1 Mile indoor Family Fun Walk

So put your walking shoes on and get ready for a great day of music, exercise and GIVING! Did I say GIVING?

We have set up our very own Maddy Rose & SoulMix fundraiser website with Easter Seals to help these good people raise a ton of money to help with their programs. Please join us in raising our goal of $5000 for Easter Seals by March 7. My daughter Sarah Judkins, the Princess DIVA!

One of the joys I have in my photography work is covering cool events. Well, last week I had the opportunity to cover RED MONROE a local and fab Dallas band. I am not quite sure what genre to put them in but maybe Sarah can tell us. Sarah, my incredible singing daughter, was featured on one of their songs, Sin City Serenade. This is a song she did with Eric Steele, the lead singer and aslo recorded with Red Monroe on their last album “Meeting on a Train”.
