2011 Oscar Nominee List
Ok, it’s Oscar weekend, so let’s have some movie fun! Here is a list of all the Oscar contenders that will be up for an award on Sunday night on the 83rd Academy Awards! I borrowed this list from Moves with Mitch (he’s having a Best Buy contest so be sure and check out his site). Be sure to check out the official Oscar site and see the videos and commentary and their own list as well! You can keep track of your own picks there. I’ve tried to get to most of the movies, but have missed a few – I am not sure how many I will get to this weekend but would really like to see Biutiful before Sunday. Oh don’t cha love it! All that glamour and sparkle! See the list here…. View full article »
Steve Errey of Lifehack.org wrote this inspiring post I wanted to share with my readers:
Confidence is a tool you can use in your everyday life to do all kinds of cool stuff, not least to stop second-guessing yourself, manage your fears and become able to do more of the things that really matter to you.
But not many people realise that their self-confidence works just like a muscle – it grows in response to the level of performance required of it. Either you use it or you lose it. That’s why I’ve given you 63 ways to grow your confidence so that you can become a giant. View full article »
Last month I had a chance to visit my niece and her hubby, Melissa Hibbard and Hamid Rahmanian (they are independent documentary film makers in Brooklyn, NY – click here to see their latest film The Glass House). Had a blast and got an local view of NYC. They took me to their favorite restaurants, and Melissa and I shopped her favorite stores in SoHo and the lower east side and “alphabet city”. What I love about NYC is that life is happening all around ALL the time! Such diversity. You wouldn’t believe the experience I had at the Whole Foods store at 14th and Union, 100 people lined up in 5 lanes to check out their groceries – I think in Texas we would have had several people going “postal” but there everyone just seemed to know what to do next and didn’t seem to be in any hurry. It was a nice change from my suburban life I live here in Dallas.
I have lots of photos I am processing from the trip, so stay tuned and check back often to see more. I will be publishing them all on my photo site www.LensQueen.com. My first grouping is a small collection of photos I snapped using my “best camera” (Chase Jarvis says the best camera is the one that’s with you!) – my handy Apple iPhone 3GS (haven’t upgraded to the OS4 yet, waiting for my AT&T upgrade coming in February). Here are a few to tease you, be sure to hop over to LensQueen.com to see the entire gallery. Love and Peace!
The amazing Winspear Opera House in Dallas was the setting for the performance of Pucini’s Madame Butterfly. I had the good fortune to attend the performance last night and had a blast. The beauty of the architecture of the new Performing Arts Center in downtown Dallas was breathtaking! Here are a few photos taken with what Chase Jarvis rates as the BEST CAMERA – the one that’s with you! In my case my trusty iPhone (to see all my photos visit me at my Facebook page):
One thing is for certain in today’s business climate, when there is no demand for your services, there is no business. Creating the need then becomes one of the primary focuses for any business development professional. Whether you are a musician who needs gigs, a photographer looking for a photo op, a graphic artist needing a project, a Realtor® looking for a new listing or buyer, or a loan officer needing to close a refi or mortgage deal, you need a steady influx of leads and prospects. In the old days we were taught that you had to make X number of calls to have X number of appointments to make X number of dollars. Somewhat true today. But thank goodness we now have access to other methods than the telephone and are connected to the entire world through the web and social networking – our sphere has just been enlarged!
